COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The institute promotes environmental sustainability and peace-building in the Middle East, fostering collaboration among diverse communities, including Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians.

OVERVIEW

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide visionary leadership, guiding the organization’s strategic growth, fundraising efforts, program development, and overall operations. The CEO is responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, building relationships with donors and stakeholders, and supporting the Arava Institute’s goals, including a capital campaign to modernize and expand its campus.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:Demonstrated leadership in fundraising and non-profit management.Board relations, financial management, and program development experience.Success in donor relations and fundraising campaigns.International or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Skills:Strong strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to inspire confidence and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Entrepreneurial mindset, organizational proficiency, and time management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a growth-oriented strategic plan.
  • Oversee and expand fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and capital campaigns.
  • Build relationships with donors, stakeholders, and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage and motivate a high-performance staff team.
  • Align programmatic initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget and ensure financial transparency.
  • Represent the organization at events and forums to raise awareness and support.
