OVERVIEW

This interim role offers a unique opportunity to manage a dynamic combined Level 1 service, including Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, OR, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery units. With an average of 40 deliveries per month and 22-24 full-time employees (RNs, Techs, and Secretaries), the Interim Nurse Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring top-tier patient care and efficient resource management. The role also includes 24/7 in-house OB and Pediatric Hospitalist coverage, allowing for seamless, high-quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required.
Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience. Leadership or managerial experience preferred.
Licensure: Must hold a current RN license in the state of Maryland.
Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive performance in clinical settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the combined service lines of Antepartum, L&D, OR, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery, overseeing a team of 22-24 FTEs.
Ensure high-quality care across all areas, supporting an average of 40 deliveries per month.
Supervise nursing staff, techs, and secretaries, ensuring efficient scheduling and performance management.
Collaborate with the leadership team to implement strategies for operational and financial improvements.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, emphasizing patient safety, quality, and confidentiality.
Facilitate communication between nursing teams, physicians, and hospital leadership to address issues and implement improvements.
Support 24/7 in-house OB and Pediatric Hospitalist teams to ensure comprehensive patient coverage and care.
