COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The employer is a 330+ bed, not-for-profit healthcare system affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). It operates two primary hospitals and provides a wide range of medical services. The system is planning to open a new hospital in 2027-2028.

OVERVIEW

The Manager Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the operational management and 24/7 accountability of nursing services within an assigned department. Responsibilities include staff oversight, quality improvement, coordination with other departments, participation in governance committees, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:Minimum of 3 years in Med/Surg nursing with operational knowledge.Progressive leadership experience preferred.
  • Education:BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:Active RN license in South Carolina.BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Skills/Abilities:Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent clinical, leadership, and communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Knowledge of "LEAN" concepts preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily operations and provide leadership for nursing services within the department.
  • Maintain quality improvement programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and manage staff performance in collaboration with HR.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Lead department and governance meetings, policy reviews, and safety/quality initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning and departmental growth initiatives.
