OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Major Gifts is responsible for overseeing individual giving strategies, including major gifts, planned giving, and endowment efforts. The role includes managing a team, building and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and working closely with volunteers, committees, and external partners. The VP will also focus on data-driven donor targeting and segmentation, aiming to raise $3 million annually.

WORK SCHEDULE

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days remote, 3 days on-site

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:10+ years in senior fundraising management with a focus on major gifts and endowment campaigns.Expertise in donor data analysis, segmentation, and targeting.Proven track record of securing six-figure donations.Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and foundations.
  • Technology Skills: CRM systems (e.g., Andar) and intermediate-level proficiency in modern web browsers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Other Skills:Excellent customer service, public speaking, and writing skills.Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.Spanish language skills are helpful but not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Development team and oversee all individual giving initiatives, including major gifts, planned giving, and endowment campaigns.
  • Develop and execute data-driven donor engagement and segmentation strategies.
  • Manage and expand the Tocqueville Society, Million Dollar Roundtable, and related recognition programs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team for budgeting and financial planning.
  • Build and maintain high-level donor relationships, personally cultivating six-figure and higher gifts.
  • Support and engage volunteers and committees in fundraising activities.
  • Oversee campaign materials, collateral, and engagement strategies.
  • Supervise and develop the Development team.
