COMPANY DESCRIPTION

A not-for-profit, 250-bed acute care hospital in southern Indiana, Baptist Health Floyd is part of a regional healthcare system with 10 hospitals in Kentucky and Indiana. The facility has undergone extensive renovations and is experiencing rapid growth.

OVERVIEW

The Director of Surgical & Orthopedic Services will lead the hospital’s fastest-growing service line, reporting to the CFO. Responsibilities include oversight of the Main OR, SPD, Endoscopy, PAT, PACU, and Pain Management departments, managing over 150 FTEs through 9 direct-report managers. The position requires optimizing operations, strategic planning, physician relationships, and service line growth.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Management, or Business (required).

Licensure: Active RN license (required).

Experience:5+ years of inpatient surgical services leadership at Manager level or higher (required).Strong communication, relationship-building, and business skills.Da Vinci robotics experience (strongly preferred).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee business operations for staffing, budget, productivity, and program development.

Lead strategic planning and service line growth for surgical and orthopedic services.

Manage and optimize performance across multiple departments, including Main OR, SPD, Endoscopy, and PACU.

Build and maintain strong physician relationships.

Support a busy OR handling over 1,100 surgeries monthly and facilitate continued growth.
