COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The organization oversees financial operations related to the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC). It ensures fiscal integrity, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support NBC’s mission. The finance department plays a crucial role in budgeting, accounting, debt management, and regulatory compliance.

OVERVIEW

The Deputy Director of Finance supports the Chief Financial Officer in managing all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and debt management. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, oversees audit processes, and supports strategic financial planning. The Deputy Director is responsible for guiding financial decisions, risk assessments, and fostering fiscal accountability within the organization.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, or a related discipline

Experience:

7-10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related fields
At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
Preferred: Experience in municipal finance, utilities, or public sector organizations

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and financial regulations
Proficiency in financial management software and tools
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a collaborative environment
