OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader in surgical services to join a dynamic healthcare team. The Director of Surgical Services will play a pivotal role in overseeing perioperative operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and leading a team of dedicated professionals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in perioperative services or a related field preferred.
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) and/or CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager) certification preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide 24/7 leadership for the Surgical Services department, overseeing operational and clinical excellence.
  • Supervise and guide the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD), ensuring adherence to best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mentor two direct reports (OR Manager and SPD Manager) and a team of 70 full-time employees (FTEs).
  • Drive quality and patient safety initiatives, enforcing compliance with surgical care standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans, optimizing departmental performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and capital equipment investments.
  • Lead efforts to enhance patient experience, staff engagement, and physician satisfaction within the department.
  • Participate in hospital-wide committees, providing leadership and representation for surgical services.
