Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Foster Care Programs to lead and expand our comprehensive Foster Care services, which include respite, kinship, regular, therapeutic, and TFCO levels of care. The Director will oversee a multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively with leadership and community stakeholders to ensure program integrity, compliance, and strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership & Oversight: Supervise and support all Foster Care programs, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services that meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Community Liaison: Serve as the primary agency representative with community stakeholders, promoting positive relationships and driving service development and expansion.
  • Team Development & Supervision: Mentor and supervise staff, fostering a supportive and effective work environment focused on operational excellence.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and agency standards.
  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with leadership to define strategic goals, participate in budget planning, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Drive recruitment and retention efforts for foster families, ensuring a strong network of homes to meet the needs of all youth in care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field with 6+ years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience.
  • NYS Licensure a plus (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Experience working in child welfare; with knowledge of the foster care system preferred.
