Vietnam Veterans of America Gets Big Furniture Donation from Local Multi-Specialty Search Firm
Recent INC 5000 Inductee, Shepherd Search Group®, recently moved its flagship location to Port St. Lucie from Stuart and used the opportunity to give back to local non-profit veterans’ agency.
January, 2018 (Port St. Lucie, FL) – As 2017 came to a close and we all enjoyed the holiday season, many area non-profits and charities were low on donations and feeling the sting of the slow economy. As they planned their budgets for next year, funds were prioritized to meet the community’s needs with little left over for administrative costs. This year, a local executive search firm used the New Year, and a new relocation, to help meet a need that might not make it into the budget of a local non-profit, office furniture. They decided to reach out to St. Lucie County Chapter 566 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, or the VVA.
Barbara Ratner, Senior Vice President for Shepherd Search Group®, Inc., donated the office furniture from their previous Stuart location, as they prepared to open doors at their new flagship location in Port St. Lucie, FL. The office furniture was readily received when three VVA volunteers, led by Wayne, arrived to take a truck load of office furniture and items away.
Vietnam Veterans of America’s goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to all veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans. Chief among these issues is seeking full access to quality healthcare for veterans. VVA strives to assist all veterans, but also to serve their communities.
Non-profits in our local communities look to its residents and business leaders to give back and make the important work of serving those in need possible. Donations come in all shapes and sizes and nothing ever goes to waste. Please consider making a donation to any veterans’ organization in your community.
